great shots Juan
That pike is awesome!

DD

we'll see I am expecting somewhere in the neighborhood of 14 inches for it. so still alot of growing to do.

Wow nice, I assume thats in the same tank as that midas (divider) How big are they right now?

Ah, If I ever have a spare 55G laying around )which I'll probably never have), I'd love to get a midas.
Beautiful fish he is!
Oh yeah, the rest of them are ok... ;)

Oh the pike, the piiiiiike

No actually thats the same tank as the Jags the Midas shares his tank with an adult Crenicichla Frenata

Ethos Midas get way too big for a 55 but it does take them awhile to get there. in the end the minimum for one male will be 75 inches. though because they are a schooling fish in the wild I am going to build a tank for about 8 amphilious zalious which are a fish in the midas complex of fish.

What's the name of that purple fish in the 5th and 6th pictures?

its the same fish as in the 4th pic. its my Jack Dempsey 'bert'

Don't waste your time with a 55 for a midas. Mine outgrew his 50 in just a couple of years. I just bought him a 100 of his own last night. He's very excited but he has to wait about a week. Ok,ok, I'm excited, too!

Juan, lovely fish, any chance we can get a full tank shot?

Wuv pretty much what you see in the tanks is what they all look like, with the excetption of the 55 with my JD and GT. all the tanks are pretty much rocks and driftwood mainly rocks though. with the large new worlds there really isn't any reason to put plants in the tank real or plastic as they are just going to end up floating on the top of the tank. the only other addtion to the tanks is that both the GT and JD have 8" flowerpots in their respective sides of the divider. with the exception of my JD, GT, and Crenicichla Frenata all of my fish are still considered " grow outs" but my brother and I will be undertaking a project this summer "fingers crossed" to insulate and heat a room in the basement and then building the racks for all the fish tanks minus 2. I am also in the planing stages of building an 8 foot tank for a group of 8 amphilious species

Mine is that big now .I have just put him in his own 180 gallon. for the time being. The oscar was rehoused to his current 55 gallon. I dont know what I will buy next. I am thinking of a 1000 gallon tank with a lot of dividers :D So I will have plenty of room...
