Ok, i've had my tank going for 3 months now the amonia is 0 but i can not get the Ph down whatever i do. I put in water that is 6.8ph but when i test it in the tank it is 7.4/7.8, i done 1/2 water change putting in 6.8ph tested it again today and it's gone up again. Also the water is now really cloudy after doing water change. Any suggestions apprechiated

Test some tap water left in a bucket/container to settle for 24 hours or so, it might well be that your tap water comes saturated in carbon dioxide, artifically making the water more acidic when it comes out of the tap (which will escape over time).

What is the kH and gH of your water, using a liquid test kit (rather than test strips)?

We tested the water from a jug after a day the ph hadn't gone up, just seems to be in the tank. I have quite a few fish in the tank so really need to get this sorted, 2 cat fish, 2 glass catfish, 10 guppies, 10 mollys, 5 neon tetra, 5 black tetra, 5 danio's, 2 flying fox's, 2 pleco's, siamese fighter. This is about 300l tank. We do live in a hard water area so don't know if that makes a difference.
I only have an api freshwater master test kit which is the liquid test kit, but it's doesn't test for kh, or gh
