Hi,
My main tank 75 gal has PH of around 6.4 due to CO2 and bogwood addition. My hospital tank is 10 gal with water directly from tap(PH ~ 7.9) with declorinator.

My discus is in hospital tank right now and seems ok. Will it be ok for him to be transfer to the main tank directly once he's ready? If not, what should be done? Should i use the disposed water from the main tank to mix with some tap water to adjust the hospital tank? Then again, should the process be done slowly?

I read a lot of articles about PH Shock killing the fish. On the other hand, i read endless articles saying about fish being able to adapt. Which way should i trust?

Any detailed inputs are appreciated. Thanks.

I know very little about discus. but if i were to adapt any fish to a higher or lower ph, id do the same thing...

In your case, i would put the fish in a bucket with some of the hospital tank water, and slowly, over a period of at least 30mins, gradually add water from your main tank to the bucket, making sure it circulates to mix properly, till the ph lowers to 6.4. also, id add an air stone and maybe abit of stress relief.
