Ph Levels

Hello,

I am not sure what causes low or high PH levels but my water is always High - I mean off the chart high so around the 8.0 range.

Which is fine for my mollies but this could explain why I can't seem to successfully keep angelfish and neon tetras as I read they like low PH levels.

Does anyone know how to bring the PH level down without having to buy a "PH down" kit?.

Please advise.
