i dont no what to do my son put a full bottle of ph uper in my tank what can i do to lower it with out all my fish dieing

i did a 50% water change but i didnt do anything when i test the water its blue as blue can be. i have been adding little bits of ph down not fast cos i was told it would stress them out to much and they will die.

so should i do water change's everyday till it comes good?

The reason most folks don't do huge water changes is that the tap water is often a little different from the tank water in regards to hardness, pH, & TDS. If you do large water changes often, your tank water is nearly identical to your tap water, so a couple of large water changes won't harm anything.

In your case, any water change is going to be adding water that is different from the tank, so you really have no choice. I would do several large, 50%+ water changes with about an hour in between. Adding chemicals to lower the pH might lower it for a short time, then it will rebound up. This is less likely to happen with water changes alone. Doing 50% daily could take a week or more to bring it back down, as two 50% water changes is the same as a 75% water change.

If your stats are off the chart you have to be really carefull when doing water changes as not to shock the fish due to PH difference. Id probably go for 50% water changes every day until it settles or more rgular smaller changes..

Having said that the bottle will bugger the PH anyway so its kinda 6 of one and a half dozen the other :(
