my rams need there ph lowered and i was wonder if any one knew of puting a really small amount of viniger in your water and the ph will come down. has any one ever heard of this? my rams need a ph of 6 and its in the 7s, im surprised they're alive actually. :/

I thought seven was good
I never herd of using viniger I think Baking soda may work

baking soda raises it, not lowers it. if they are ok don't mess with the pH it will do mroe harm than good, most fish can be acclimatised to a pH which is not strictly wihtin their preferred range. and dont forget that books and websites always differ on what fishes' preferred range actually is.

My rams live happily in water which has a PH of 7.4. At one time the PH was higher (nearly 8 ) but I brought it down gradually by introducing reverse osmosis water into the tank (until it eventually made up 25% of the volume). That said, they were fine at the higher PH too, though I would not expect them to spawn at that reading.

It also depends where you purchased your rams from. My LFS told me their tanks were PH8 (as is our local tap water) and they only adjusted this with really sensitive fish that had been imported or wild caught.
