ph of water is 7.2
and i have a piece of bog wood in this tank so how can this be happening????
please help i dunno what to do to bring it down?

water levels are
ammonia=0
nitrite=o
nitrate=12.5

dont use co2 or any liquid buffers etc.
its a fluval 2 filter so know coral etc
substrate is just normal gravel
only things in tank is 1 piece of bogwood and 2 aquarium ornaments and plants.

help please :crazy:

My bet is on the gravel...Most gravels have some natural buffering properties, it looks to me like you picked on with more than adverage...Whats the hardness of your tap and tank water?

All the best
