Is there a difference and if so what is it? The reason for the question is i have a Tetra PH Test Kit and an Interpret Easy Kit with Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite and PH Broad Range Test Kits.

The Tetra one gives me a reading of 7.5 PH and The Interpret one gives me a reading of 8.5 Ph.

Cheers

thats a big difference, broad range gives you a ball park figure compared to the other more precise ph reading

RHR, I don't think that is right,

I don't own the tests, but my guess is that "broad range" means it is a test that gives results over a wider or broader range of pH values, whereas some tests have an upper limit that may be lower than the pH in your tank.

What is the upper limit on the card of the Tetra pH test?

For example, the API master kit comes with a "high pH test" and a regular "pH test".

The regular test has a max registered value around 7.5 if I remember correctly (maybe someone else can write in).

You can also take a sample of your water to your LFS and they will test for you.
