I currently have a PH of 6.0 in my 55 gallon tank and I need a ph of 7-7.5 or somewhere near there. I use to have a PH of 7.5 a couple weeks ago but for some reason my PH has dropped to 6.0 and I have plenty of aeration too. I added CO2 a little while back and I believe thats what caused the drop so I removed it to see if it will go back up. How long will it take for the PH to go back up if I have good aeration? My Tap water PH is 7.5.

It's not good to mess with your Ph. Do not add any of the chemicals to the tank- they are not good for the fish. You need to raise the Ph, right? I can't remember what you are meant to add (well, not meant. I mean a non chemical solution to the problem. :X eek this sound wrong) but I'm sure someone will tell yuo.

I believe aeration is suppose to raise it, maybe it takes a few days for the CO2 level to go down or something.

How often do you do water changes and how often?

You are correct that using co2 will lower pH.

IT looks like you are still cycling so all sorts is going on in your tank at the mo.

If you plan to use co2 long term then regular weekly water changes should keep it in check..... - if not then you may need to add something to your tank to buffer it - easiest being substrate or rock (tuffa) allthough this is not an exact science and a bit of trial and error may be necessary to get things stable...

www :)

Once I'm done fishless cycling and do a water change it should be alright I forgot about that. :)
