PFK TOP 100 FISH

Nop :p I've never seen the mag. before around here though I'd LOVE to get it :) Going to order it I think :D

i am surprised that panda cory was number 2. IMO they are the fish from h#$@ They never go out into the open and they just sit there and deteriorate.

How were they rated? For looks, ease of care, peoples favorites? Go Panda's!!!! Anybody know why they are so expensive compared to other cories?
are they? They are cheap around here. 5$ for 2.

Sylvia, have you looked at the PFK website?

Somone has posted a link on this thread.

I think Pandas are expensive in some areas, possibly because they have not been in the hobby as long as say peppered or Bronsze corys.

I saw some in a lfs for £5.50 ea, but you can get them cheaper from Trimar.

I cant beleive clown ,loaches got number 1, they grow quite large so arent suitable for anythign but big tanks and there are very prown to ich

But people love 'em don't they?

Sanj, I'm looking at the site this very moment :D

Don't know actualy :p I've never realy had a tank I felt was large enough to accomodate several of them so I never kept any but I'd say they have cory-like characters (and everyone likes cories...), are cute (come on you have to admit it...) and they are rather attractively colored and active so I suppose people find them interesting and fun to own.

Oh yeah im nothing against them, i love corries and clown loaches dont look great but i was very suprised to see them number one.

For example i see loads of people raving on about how they love their panda corries or rams but never seen threads sayign how great clown loaches are

im just suprised thats all

I missed the top 20, did any bichirs, gudgeons, or other oddballs make the top 100? :p

TBH Panda Corys or any corys was a surprise to me. I did not expect them to be NO.2

The three fish I voted for all got into the top 100, but not the top 10.

1. Red line torpedo No. 56 -and they included my comment hehehe...I think because they are relativley new, not common and expensive they didnt get a higher score, but in 5 years time they definately would do much better.

2. Boesmanii Rainbow (cant remeber the No. I think Rainbows have only become popular recently (last few years), they are quite pricey and most peeps overlook them because jeuveniles arent much to look at taking a couple of years to develop good colouring.

3. Bala/Silver Shark No.12 - long time been in the hobby, really elegant and cheap, but grow too large for 99% of fishkeepers , even though a much larger % have kept and are keeping them.

I was surprised there was only 1 cory on the list (at No.2), although in the text it suggests they might have grouped all cories together, as it comments how many different varieties there are.

I can't believe a peppered cory would not be in the top100.

Oh no, I thought there would be corys in the top 100 maybe top 10, but not as high as no.2.

Evenso the obvious ones that have been top 10ers in the past missed it this time, namely the Guppy and Neon.
