Well i got one today, and it seems to disturbing the tank quite alot. he surface water is moving and my guys bubble nest got destroyed

what should i do

Move it lower down below the waterline, mine is an inch below the water so that there is very little surface agitation. Also do you have a lid? not having a lid causes the nests to break up faster. You should also direct the filter at the furthest wall away to reduce current.

Dont worry about the bubble nest. He's not breeding so it doesn't matter

Like saltynay says, move it down, and use the deflector. You can also put a fake plant right in front of it which will disrupt the flow.

If you still not happy, get cloth (like bandage type cloth, not bleached though) and put it over the nozzle. Attatch it with a zip tie. Haven't had to do this with ours though

Well, from he scrap bits i had lft over when i cut my divider down, iv made this little section for the filter to sit inside.

It seems to get rid of the current, altoght there is a slight movement still on the top, but its quite funny to watch him chasing his food pellets...

its not blowing him round the tank like it was before anyway lol. Take a look at what iv done, im quite proud of it lol

Oh and incase your woundering, iv decde to just split it into two, i think ill emaile the ladie and tell her to keep the female, iv been looking at buying anouther tank, but even then this tank would be no good to breed in so id need anouther.. and its just money i dont have atm.

Your just diffusing the current same as netty said with sponge. Looks ok but a substrate and plants to hide it would be nicer

yer iv got a loads of plants coming from ebay, and gravel etc... just waiting for it all then ill try and hide it, iv got the divider there anyway so i dont think it looks bad, better than the filter looked imo

Lol it looks good! Kinda camoflaged I think but yeah, get some plants round it. Once it grows a bit of algae on it, it will blend in better!
