I pet my dwarf gourami about twice a week. I hold food over the water he spits on my fingers and I drop it in. Then when he finishes eating I come back and put my hand in the tank, he swims up and inspects my hand chewin on my fingers. Then i move my hand through the water so he goes through my fingers. He seems to really enjoy it and I love it. As I'm doing this I rub his back his sides and his belly. I'm thinking this is probably bad for him because of his slimecoat. Should I stop?

It's very cute, but I really wouldn't touch him (due to slime coat issues) unless absolutely neccesary.

Also, if you do it often. It could change your water params because of the natural salts from your hands and you could be introducing types of bacteria that MAY kill fish :/
