just rose in my estimation. went in looking for male and female lyretail mollies to go with my female. anyway, i lookedat them, spotted the 3 fry and then went "hmm wonder why they're not moving?" got chatting with one of the assistants who looked at them and went "sorry i'm not selling you these". he's refusing to sell anymore of their mollies til they perk up cos they're sat there doing nothing. apparantly they had 4 die already. ok so dead fish aint good but the fact they wouldn't sell them me is good. maybe they're not so bad afterall or maybei just got someone who knew what he was talking about.

talking ov pets at home my m8 bought 2 mollies from there 3 days ago and after 1 night 1 molly died.

i had that with a guppy i got there. made it less than 24 hours. but i've had the same from other places too. "stress" i was told. hmmm

a few ppl i know have bought fish from them and they have died quicly aswell, i personally would never buy from them.

i've had 3 fish from there. 1 molly is fine, the rest well, lets say they didn't last long, 1 24 hours, the other about a month., saying that, one of my local lfs's i got a male and female fighter and neither lasted more than 2 days and they ONLY sell fish/aquatics. my local garden centre however i cant fault.

thats where i buy my fish, our local garden centre (wyevale)there is also a pet shop near us that sells fish and ive had no problems there either.

pets at home? Is that a store chain in europe and australia? If it is there's a chain like that here in a town not too far away. I go in there after my cousin gets done with my hair cuts. They have a good selection of fish but alot of them don't look healthy. Their totaly over priced also. For a 20g long tank it's about $250. $250 for just a tank, hood, and the light! I don't know how they stay in buisness.

y'know, it could be stress that kills your fish. maybe you didnt introduce them right. its completely possible that you did something wrong.

the PaH here is £80 for a 2ft tank with heater, filter, light, food, book, plastic plants, and other stuff.

Its just one of thoughs things I guess.
I bought..2 Honey Gourami... 3 neon tetra...7 glowlight tetra... 2 cory doras all from Pets at Home in the UK york branch.. and never lost a fish .
Then I bought i male and 2 female guppies (1 female turned out to be a gambusia :grr: )
Then.. 3 females and one male guppy
then 3 female platties and one male. All of these I bought from a specialist fish shop and out of 10 fish only 3 lived, most dying withing days :-(
Then I bought 1 cory 2 female guppies and I male plattie from a local petshop and so far I only lost one female guppy .

So I think buying from cycled tanks rather than trickle fed tanks, as they were in the specialist shop is a good thing. The fish seem to do much better when transfered into a cycled tank as its almost impossible to get the *clean Water* conditions these specialist shops have.
