When my sister was called at lunchtime to go to work @ Pets At Home, I thought I'd go along and look for a Siamese Fighter. So, there I was browsing along the tanks when I spot a pretty blonde and black fighter in a tank with gouramis (is this a no no or not? Can they go in together?)
Anyway, I thought they weren't supposed to so I told my friend who also works there and he moved it out straight away for me. I was going to get it but its fins were really short and looked bitten so I didn't.
Anyway, this guy was doing a fish run (taking dead fish out of the tanks) and he slid open the lid really fast and it cracked the side of the tank. He and my sister were like...um...I think we need the manager over here. The staff were all desperately catching the fish and putting them in a new tank with this water slowly spreading over the floor. I know its not really funny, but I got myfighter.
I was going to get the blonde fighter when I saw some melafix on the shelf and remebered it is supposed to fix fins. I picked it up and it was marked at £4.49 and £6.99, and they wouldn't sell it to me cheap, the manager just peeled off the cheap sticker, so I said, right I'm not buying any then. I should have taken it to a different manager.
Just thought I'd share.
