I ended up getting three very young (they are only an 1 1/4 inches long excluding tail) male bettas at PetCo in the last few days. I was in total shock because, well, they had deltas and super deltas for the same low price as VT ($3.49). And they charge $6.99 for CTs, so I'm guessing they just don't know what they have on their hands!!!

This is Toby. He is definately at least a SD. Since he is still young, I'm thinking he may end up with a wider span when he gets older.
This is Swiffer. I believe he is also a SD. If not, he's so close it counts anyway.

And this is the last guy, Prism. But he is SUPER handsome. The pictures don't even come close to doing him justice. All of his branching is perfectly even. It all stems out in twos. And they are evenly spaced and everything. I think he is almost a HM. It is really breathtaking to see him flare. And like I said, he is only an inch and a quarter long.
I know this picture is dark, but it shows his branching better than any of the others I got. It also shows how close he is to being HM.
If I had any more space for bettas, I'd be going back to PetCo tomorrow and picking up some more of them. They had at least 10 more delta or SD males. All of them were gorgeous. I had such a hard time picking these guys out!! And I wasn't going to be getting any fish when I first went in!
But I couldn't let these guys go home with someone else!
