Pesky Neighbors

I came home after work last night. Usually, I can see my tank lights glowing in the front window of my apartment. Last night, I could not. Did I forget to turn them on?

Nope.

Seems that some yahoo was trying to splice some wires in the basement of my apartment complex and shorted out the whole breaker unit..(or whatever they call it). My poor babies went without heat, aeration, and filtration for over 12 hours. It is cold here in Nebraska, mind you.

Just goes to show that know matter how careful and loving you are to your fish and tank, some other knucklehead can screw it up for you.

Everything is fine. Just had to vent. Pesky neighbors.

Stupid neighbors

LOL. Just wrap the tanks up in towels to preserve what heat is left and pour water into the filters to keep bacteria alive and scoop water out of tank and pour it back in for oxygen.

If it's much of a consolation I asked a housemate to feed my fish while I was away for a mere 6 days last week, and I come back to find 2 have died.

I hope your fish are ok!
