Hey i have had a Juwel Rekord 96 for just under 5 years now. The tank started out as a livebearer tank full of guppies etc but for the last year or so it has contained cardinal tetras, black nean tetras, 2 clown plecs and 2 german blue rams which i was told when i bought them about 9 months ago that they where 2 females. I am thinking that they are actually more likely 2 males as they were v.young when i first got them and now both have a near solid black mark on the sides and spikey dorsal fins. They seem to have half the tank each rarely venturing into the other half. I have persuaded my parents after months to let me upgrade however the catch is that i have to get rid of the 96. They specified a tank around a meter long but they have not set a limit on height nor depth. The current tank has the internal filter removed and has a Tetratec EX700 currently as its soul filtration. Ideally in the new tank i would like a pair of angel fish. All the current fish would be going into the new one as well as a few others to go along side them. What tank do you guys think would be good? i can afford up to around the Juwel Rio 240 range. Any ideas? also what would the stocking density of the rio 240 be?

if i was to add a decent substrate and co2 etc to ake this a planted tank would it be harder to go planted on a bigger tank?

I would suggest going for the Roma 240 over the Rio 240

Hagen is much more reliable IMO and you get the added bonus that you get a good external filter with the roma and only an average internal filter in the rio which takes up valuable tank space. (I have the rio 240 by the way)

Both tanks are the same volume and dimensions

IMO the 240 is a good sized tank that will give you plenty of options
