Peppermint Bristlenose

Hi all,

I am brand new to this forum and have a question.

I just bought 5 peppermint bristlenose of about 3cm long each.

I have put them in a 180 Gal tank with discuss and 10 other brown bristlenose of about 8-10 cm.

Are there any issues keeping browns and peppermints together?

Will they cross bred (which I dont want) ?

No they wont cross breed but you wont be able to keep 15 fully grown plecs within that tank, there will be aggression showing as they mature and even more when they become adult, specially between the males.

What do you mean when you say peppermint bristlenose?, if you mean L183 which there often referred to as peppermints then they are very aggressive fish compared to other BN's, specially the males and quite a few people have had issues with males killing others within the group.
