I just bought 3 juvenile peppered Corydoras. After acclimatising them i realeased them into the tank and they went stright to work in the sand at the bottom. Left behind in the bag was a bright red little ball, almost like a red polystyrene piece, which i assumed had got in there by mistake.
A while later i noticed one of the 3 pooping and his/her poop was the same colour! Never seen that in a fish before but i never had young Cories before either. Is this normal? Also , at least one of the 3 pops to the surface every few minutes and grabs a mouthful of air then resumes foraging. I cant tell so far ( the tank is planted so hard to keep an eye on which is which)if its always the same one or if all 3 are doing it. Again, is this normal?
I must stress that all 3 look happy as larry with their snouts buried in the sand most of the time and none of them show the slightest signs of any illness or lethargy.
Tank is a 240L with 8 Black Neon Tetras, 2 Siamese Algae eaters and now 3 Cories.
PH 7.6 ,25 degrees C, 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite, 20 Nitrate.

i doubt it if it was red......! i dont think corys would spawn in a bag either
