hi, i purchased these fish on monday and was wondering if the name above is correct, they were down as the moliwe strain.i think they are beautiful fish with great markings.really happy with them.lol

the female has really coloured up,and has a really pink/purple belly.
 
The last picture looks good, some real nice Turquoise/Green comming through.

Pelvicachromis taeniatus is actually a west african cichlid (so a mod will probably move this into the old world section). The issue of them being 'moliwe strain' or not might get some better answers there as well - as I understand it there are 10 varients of Pelvicachromis taeniatus.

Incase you didn't know the 'moliwe strain' refers to their collection point (or where their ancestors) came from.
 
ok cheers for that.could a mod please move this post.lol.them pictures were took a few hours after they went in my tank on monday.got some better pics and they both have more colour.i love the males tail.

Your male is a Pelvicachromis taeniatus " Muyuka " . The female, i am unsure of. But, i would assume the same for her aswell.
