Peculiar Water Stats.......

ok so my tank cycled a few weeks ago and usally showed some nitrite. now for the last week i have zero activity. nothing showing up at all. is this correct? i mean should there be nothing?

EDIT: my water testing kit is an API Master liquid test kit.

it was a fish in cycle, before the plecos were introduced.

i should also add my plecos are super active today. i changed the water and they seem very active.lol usally i only see the adult bn pottering around the tank, now my 2 x clowns are out and about, my golden nugget pleco is also all over the place having a fun time. kinda pickled me.

When you tank was showing nitrites present in the water it was still in the later parts of the cycle. Now that your readings are showing 0 nitrites your tank has completed its cycle. Congrats on a successful cycle!

8/12 danios. 2 died and 2 have dissapeared into thin air, or eaten.lol

3 x peppered catfish/corys.....i need 3 more

yup, at current i have a fluval plus 2 + 4 side by side, ive just ordered a fluval u4 rated at 1000lph that will eventually be the only filter in the tank.

Although this tank is four feet, The Gold nugget Pleco will as it grows, become belligerent to intolerant of the bristlenose and clown plecos. You might get buy if there are plenty of hiding spots consisting of wood(must have for clown plecos)and flat pieces of slate or flagstone perhaps that the fish can get under.
Have kept many of the plecos and the gold nugget is not friendly to other plecos. Would not be surprised to see damage to other plecos.

i agree with the not getting along with the bn but....she hangs out with the clowns all the time, they share the potato together and all is well. the gn and bn dont fight as such,they more stay out of eachovers way, the bn always seems to want the gn's cave but they just kick up alot of sand and its over, its very rare they make contact.

i have 3 large pieces of wood, numerous caves and flat stones with hideouts in.

Sounds well thought out. Indeed,it is when there are few retreats, and plecos want to share same retreat that scuffles occur

All the quoting lol.
Everyone quoting a quote brings up another colourful square full of quotes.
Starts to hurt my eyes after a while.
