Could i add a couple of Pearls to my set-up? Please check my sig. I'm looking for a couple of good centerpiece fish. Thanks.

Goramis can be extremley aggresive. Especialy durring brreding time. I looked at the list of your fish and they are all docile fish so I would not redomend them for yur tank. I had one in my molly tank and it killed 2 of them before I could manage to find it a new location.

Sorry to be the barror of bad news.

:D I say go right ahead!!!

Gouramis are very peacefull fish and go with any fish you could think of look at my Sig. There all fine and dandy and love each others company. Blue gouramis and dwarf/pearl gouramis are peacefull and go great in a community tank...

There alot of members That have community tanks and almost all of them have gouramis....so I say there very nice fish to have in your community tank :) IMO

Oh No!!....I did not mean to put you down!!! :-(

I was useing The smilies to show you that I was bieng kind and helpfull! :D I did not mean to put you down!! I am so sorry....I did not mean to do that. :-(

In your case the gouramis where aggresive so you advised they are....I would have. You helped and that is what mattered! :p

I am sorry that It seemed that I tried to you down..I never ment for you to feel that way. :(

Sometimes talking over the internet can become hard so you really cant tell if someone is trying to be rude...or it seemed that they where but they really where not trying to hurt anyone.

Agian I am sorry I was not trying to put you down :byebye:

Does anybody think I meant to put samsung down I hope I did not seem That rude

Hmmmm....Who do i believe....Ahmad or Samsung??? :D BTW,Ahmad did not put samsung down. He didn't even mention his name. People have different opinions and experiences with fish. It's nice to have different ideas or suggestions in a post. Most people do have Pearls with other fish,so i tend to lean towards Ahmad's post. I was more worried about my own fish disturbing or harrassing the Pearls. Anyone else want to chime in?

Your fish in your signature are peaceful fish and dont harm others so your gouramis will be fine. There is a chance of some chasing if you get two males but once they split there territories (In a week or so) They should be fine....If you decide you want more gouramis try to get females they are not like the males and are more peacefull than them.

Females Have Round tails.

While the Males Are very pointed.

HTH :)

I have four pearl gouramis (3 males, 1 female), and they get along great. I also have danios and blue gouramis in the same tank. They should be fine in your tank. There are exceptions, as noted by samsung-401.

A pair should be ok in your tank. But if they breed they willl become aggresive towards other tank mates which venture too close to their territory.

A male pearl gourami has a pointed dorsal fin and a red throat. A feamle has a more rounded dorsal fin

:)

Hi Fishstix :)

I've always found that the easiest way to sex gouramis is to look at them from above. The male will appear streamlined and will taper from the head to the tail. The female, on the other hand, will have a rounded belly and will taper back from there.

This is a good way to tell the sex if the gouramis are young and you can't tell them apart by their fins, or if there is only one sex in the tank. :D
