Could I keep 2 Pearl Gouramis (one male and one female) in my 29 gallon tank with: 6 Furcatas, 8 Guppies, and 2 Badis Badis?

Would they get too big?

Would they harass/fin nip the smaller fish?

1.Yes 29 gallons is quite small for them.

2. I've had a Pearl Gourami eat a few Neon Tetras in the past so your small fish would definitely be in danger :look:

29 gallons is too small for them, wouldn't recommend it. As far as nipping, it depends on how much territory they stake out and if anyone invades it, which in a 29 gallon, would most likely happen.

in my 26gal juwel i have numerous other fish including a RTBS, tiger barbs and cardinal tetra. I also have a opaline, dwarf and golden gourami which all get on famously. I have no squabbling over territory (which I expected tbh in a 98l tank and have not lost any other fish to any predator. All appears well with them and I have a really active community (albeit with 3 filters running and water changes every 2 days to keep nitrates down).

I think your luck with them is because you only have one of each type. When you keep a male and female Pearl Gourami together in a small tank, there will be issues with territory when they get mature. In a big tank at least the other fish can "get away" from the breeding pair but in a 29 gallon it's a risk. I used to have a Kissing Gourami and he was very peaceful and didn't bother any of the other fish. I loved him so much so I decided to get a couple more. Well, the war was on after that. That group of 3 terrorized everyone, even my catfish, trying to "kiss" their eyes all the time, lol.
