Just a question

I'm getting two Pearl Gourami's for the second set of fish, I have fry in my tank will the Pearl Gourami eat the fry? it might sound sad but i'm hoping they might as i'm over run by fry.

I would do this but how can i catch them I've tried so many times with the net but no chance in getting them

yeah catching fry are a pain
I caught mine at 6am before I had to go to work cos they all got out of the net, I was not impressed!

I only used a net to catch them, they are quick but its not impossible, you'll just have to keep trying

I've been told turning out the lights and shining a torch in the tank attracts the fry to it so maybe try that?

which fry are they and what other fish are in the tank?

Lol I will give that ago with the torch they are platy fry, and only have three in tank now as i caught one today and give it to the LFS as i was having trouble with pecking. But i thought getting a big net placing some food in and turning off light and they might with in to the net?

I keep gouramis in with breeding platys and they leave the fry alone. It's only my angel fish that chases and eats any fry it can catch up with.

there is a good chance that they will although it depends on the fishes personality

personally i wouldnt risk it

Does not matter the fish if a fish can fit the other fish in their mouth they will try it sooner or later. Big mistake people make is they don't have enough hiding spots for their fish especially if you have fry. They have plastic plants that are big squares that make good ground cover just for fry.

i have two pearl gouramis and they do not bother eating my guppy fry. They just cannot be bothered to swim fast enough. I don't think they will do much to keep the number of fry down.
