I'm thinking of maybe getting a new tank with cichlids?

Now, are there peaceful cichlids that can form a community , apart from discus and angels.

I thought about convict cichlids, but they seam aggressive and might not be a good ''cichlid community'' fish.

Any good websitess on compatible cichlids?

The Apistogramma, Mikrogeophagus, Taeniacara, Nannacara, some Laetacara , Mesonauta, Pterophyllum, and some Pelvichromis species are usually peaceful.

convicts are FAR from peaceful! But your tank is overstocked as it is so I wouldnt put any cichlids in there. 20 gallons is good for a pair and a school of tetras, but that is it.

the rams and apistogrammas are peacful and quite frankly some of the best looking fish going imho

No. These cichlids generally don't form communities, they naturally don't like the company of each other, and at best we can force them to tolerate it. There are many cichlids that can live in community tanks (with non-cichlids) but when you stick cichlids together in a tank it can never be called a community.

Anyone who wants all sorts of different cichlids together would be much wiser to look at Africans from lake Malawi.

It all depends on the size of the tank you are getting.
If you are getting a 55 or higher than I would suggest Severums or Uarus (both are docile and very human responsive)
If you are getting a tank lower than 55 than I wouldn't buy any cichlid that can reach over 6" such as firemouths and dwarfs.
