Is there a peaceful cichlid that can actually compliment a community tank? i wanna add a cichlid as a centerpiece for my tank but most of them are aggresive...

Check out badmans tropicals. The fish profiles are good. I am looking to get some myself and have settled on keyholes and dwarf cockatoo's

Depending if it is a community with Tinfoils and siver dollars, or is it with tigers & Rios????.... I always recommend Orange Chromides.... No mean streak in those fish.... Goes well with any display and are also colourful and interresting.

thanks for the insight guys! now i think im gonna settle with keyhole as well, is it ok to get just one or should I get 2 keyhole cichlids? i have a 40 US gallon thanks again.

Get a pair - the best thing about keyholes IMO is how their colors change in reaction to other fish. They're peaceful almost to a fault, so they're not going to fight in that size tank. Even if they do, it's one of the tamest cichlid fights you'll ever see. Mine occasionally get to the very verge of lip locking and then both get cold feet and go hide.

Kribensis are friendly. Except when they breed I noticed. But what fish are friendly whilst protecting eggs?
