I am hoping to get a 5 gallon Fluval Spec for a single pea puffer. I have a ramshorn snail infestation in one of my tanks and was hoping on adding them to a pea puffer tank. Would the puffer always hunt and overeat or will he stop when he gets full?

Thanks

You can always just drop in a few at a time, and observe how quickly they are consumed

Is there anything I could put in there to keep algae away while not getting eaten? Thats why I originally wanted to put the ramhorns in.

Decrease your lighting schedule, for a start...how long are the lights on now?...or is the tank even set up yet?

More than welcome.

Many fish stores will try to sell you "algae eaters" or "cleanup crews", insisting that you need them, when most times you don't....

Yes, he would overeat if he had access to snails all the time. You can get another small (1-2 gallon) tank for a snail-only tank, so you can pick 1 or 2 out at a time to feed to him.
