Parents hated it at first, but now they're okay with it cos they'd rather me spend spare cash on fish instead of alcohol or drugs.

Grandparents are really supportive, they take me to the LFS sometimes, and they recently bought me a bigger tank for when I move in with them.. They won't go any bigger than a three footer which was a little saddening cos I wanted the 48x12x18 55g, but my 34g is just as good. :) Especially since it was the full package for $40 secondhand.

My mom just walks into my dorm room and shakes her head when she sees the bettas. There's only 5 now, but she still thinks it's excessive.. I'm tempted to show her some betta fish room shots from wuv and yeevia!

My boyfreind thought the pond was a silly idea then he saw full grown koi....I let him go with me to pick out babies and it was fun until I had 30 koi in a little pond and they couldn't be saved when they broke out with gill disease (6 made it).

I started back with tanks this winter. A little easier to take care of from stocking points. He doesn't care what I do with the tanks but I must have a goldfish in one at all times lol. Because he inadvertantly got me involved with those monster gobies he's even going to help me with my 8x2x2 tank...(I sent him for loaches he came back with a violet goby and said "It's long and eely" that one didn't make it and I couldn't find more local so I settled on marbled gobies then found two violet gobies later..)

Even with a job, four dogs, 2 large tanks, three small ones, and a pond I don't stay constantly busy..

They don't really care. Unfourtunately, since I'm only 13 (as quite a few people on here are), I have to rely on my dad to drive me everywhere (not always the best idea, he took me to the wrong shop the other day) and have to have a parent with me so I can buy fish (most shops have the 'You must be 16 or over to purchase a pet' thing). Plus I only have enough cash for second hand tanks, do dad needs to drive again, and I don't have enough room in my bedroom for any more tanks (apart from maybe a few 3gs).

My dad gets annoyed with me buying for fish and tanks all the time but he likes them really, he's constantly showing them off to his mates, although the "that will go nice with chips" joke is a litle worse for ware to say the least!!

he built the stand for my big tank, helped with a few bits that needed figuring out.

mum likes the fish aswell, she will talk to them!!
