OK, heres the rundown.
I bought a bolivian ram approx 1 year ago.
Shortly after taking it out of quarantine and placing it in my main tank I noticed red worms hanging from its anus.
After some research I found a product called prazipro. (I'm sure most know of it).
Anyhow, I treated the tank accordingly, however it took 6-7 treatments to work.
Again.....this was approx 1 year ago.
At the time I didnt have the internet.
Now, the other day, I noticed the worms were back.
After some research on the interent I have learned that these worms may be camellanus worms.
Prazipro does now kill these worms. (apparently)
But, the question(s) remains, why did the worms go away when I treated the tank a year ago?
Why have I not seen the worms in a year?
Could they actually be camellanus worms? (they are thin and red)
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Has anybody had this same problem?
I could go on and on with the questions, but I'm sure you get the point.
I'm at a loss.
Camellanus worms can be killed of using the following med's.
Levamisole
Fenbendazole
Flubendazol
All of the above need to be prescribed by an Vet.
However, all of the above are not available in Canada.
I've heard of a product called "aquatronic discomb", it has the active ingredient Levamisole in it.
Has anyone heard of or used it?
I'm in a pickle.
