my Platties have recently come down with a strange ailment. i might have a bit too much time on my hands to notice this, but i have. they eat fine and poop regularly, but their poops aren't normal. stringy and white mixed and muddled with normal fishie poo. i'm pretty sure it's a parasite. any ideas?

how many fish are in the tank? could be parasites. if the fish are eating you can get a medicated fish food to help clear it up. you could also use a med for gram negative diseases. maracyn II is made for gram negative diseases. if you are going to medicate the tank, remove any activated carbon from the tank first.

how long has this tank been set up and how often do you do water changes?
