Hiya.
I posted the other day and mentioned that one of my Otos had blood-red gills. His gills aren't as red today, but he does have blood/bright red tissue around his mouth
Poor little guy. Anyway...upon closer inspection, it looks like some of my other fishs' gills might be a little redder than usual (or I'm just paying more attention to them than usual). Someone suggested treating for parasites. I have a couple questions.
One: Any product recommendation? I'm in the U.S. I have Neons, Corys, Kuhlis, and an unidentified fry in the tank (perhaps Guppy?), as well as live plants.
Two: I read on here somewhere that garlic can be used to treat parasites. If it does, will the fish benefit by just being in the same water as it, or do they have to consume the garlic?
Three: Is there some other non-chemical/medication treatment I can use? I hate putting chemicals in my fishtank.
Four: Should I isolate the Oto and treat just him, or should I treat the whole tank. I'm thinking the whole tank, but want to get your recommendations, too.
Thank you very much!
