Would a paradise gourami do this? I am guessing it is the culprit as there was never a problem with this guppy and any other fish in the tank.

There are only other guppies in this tank. Put the gourami in there last night and now the tail on this blue guppy is a mess. Put the gourami in another isolation tank for the time being......may be headed back to the store or to my Oscar!

I would not at all doubt it. They are highly territorial in the presence of other males, and I wouldn't doubt that they would get agitated by other fish. :dunno:

AS for the oscar, it was your fault for putting him there, so I don't think it deserves that punishment unless you want to feed your oscar life food. :p

Semi-territorial.

How big is the tank, and how many inhabitants?
