i have 2 paradise fish (female)
but i really want a siamese fighter... is it true that the paradise fish will end up killing the siamese fighter? or the siamese fighter killing them?
i was goin to take them back today as i did ask for a male and a female... but i just don't know if the siamese fighter will go with two females as they are not as colourful :S
please help

Yes all the fish have the capacity to kill the other fish. Take the paradise fish back and get 1 male fighting fish. Then you could maybe try some small fish like harlequin rasboras with them in a school of 5. That is a more realistic stocking for your 10 gallon tank now the paradise fish even if both are female they need a much bigger tank.

yeh that what im goin to do :p
the paradise fish seem to be fighting between eachother aswell xD
Pets at home staff are just thick.. they don't know anything about the fish
i mean i know a bit but i saw the paradise fish and i liked them
and they said they are a community fish .. obviously not..
i will take them back later and have an empty tank :(

You are better off making your decision before you take them back. If you leave the tank empty the filter will die off as there will be no fish too poop and there fore no ammonia to feed the filter bacteria. So if you left it a week you would add fish and end up in a fish in cycle situation.

So I would either take the paradise fish back and pick up your new Betta or leave them there for now and make your decision on what fish you want to keep.

Most pets at home staff are not great with their fish knowledge but there are a few people that know what they are doing. Their fish choice are quite limited though, if you could find an other fish shop it would give you more options of what fish you can get, where are you from maybe someone can recommend a good shop to you?

i live in lowestoft
so the best store close to me is in yarmouth which i am goin to on saturday :)
which is not a pet store but is just a fish shop.
i have decided that maybe the paradise fish get too big for the tank aswell
so i should get rid of them,, plus maybe i should take them back another day so the bacteria is still there :p
thanks
