1.Water parameters: All normal rang Ammonia 0 etc. Tempt 75F. Last water change 2days ago.

2. A full description of the fishes symptoms. Not thriving in last 2 days. Sitting at bottom of tank, occasionally going up and breaking surface. Not eating. Appears to have tiny patch of flat (not raised) reddish bruising on its mouth, and on one side near the back. Looks sort of like a graze. No missing scales, no hairs, no ulcers or open wounds, no spots and no fraying fins. Fish was fine a few days ago with nice colour, but has suddenly become lack-luster in last 2 days. Was suspicious it had got itself stuck between the plastic breeder trap and glass. Made adjustments to breeder trap to stop this happening, but haven’t witnessed anything.

3. How often you do water changes and how much. About 25% every 4-5 days due to the platy fry in the breeder trap.

4. Any chemicals and treatments you add to the water. Only de-chlorinator and 1x teaspoon aquarium salts.

5. What tank mates are in the tank. 2 x platy adult, 2 x platy fry in plastic breeder trap (less then week old). Leopard danio.

6. Tank size. 75L

7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish? No, but I have added an aerator in the last 24 hours (bit noisy). A few days ago my female platy had her very first batch of fry, but she dropped sooner than expected since she wasn’t showing much, and I retrieved only two. I know the paradise fish ate some fry as I saw it scoff one. This was about 6 days ago.
Fry seem fine, other fish eating and playing normally. No sign of threads/fungus in tank.

Plan to do another water change in just a moment, but totally baffled.

Hmmm...not a lot to go on really, I'm afraid.

All you can do in these cases is keep up the good quality water and hope for the best, unless the fish shows definite symptons of something.

If the spots look reddened or full of pus you could try an anti-bacterial; Myxazin is good.

You don't need to add salt to freshwater tanks.

Can't see any visual signs of anything except the red grazing which I can only think is hemorrhaging under scales. She's now swimming up to break the surface every few minutes, then just flopping back down to the gravel. However, she is staying mostly straight when resting, and seems to have control when swimming.

This could well be hopeless. Fry and other fish still seem to be fine. Can't understand why my paradise fish who is supposed to be pretty hardy is suffering this mystery illness. I suppose if she's on the way out and not giving me any clues, then all I can do is keep it peaceful for her. But I'd say this fishy is on the way out 8(
