Hey guys I've just bought 6 panda corys but I've noticed there is an odd one out.

It's got more of a fat body and is slightly more grey bodied. It also has a bent up tail :/

Here's a pic:

wow... :/ that's some impressive spinal deviation...

there's probably nothing you could do to "fix" it.

oooh that looks painful

Could it be from too much inbreeding?

He is looking a little off colour but I imagine once he's settled in and nicely fed up in a couple weeks' time he'll colour up just fine. In relation to his shape, yep, he's got a birth defect I'm afraid. I've noticed one of mine (Tiny Tim) who I recently got with a group from someone emptying their tank locally, has a twisted spine as well. He is much smaller than the others (but they are nearly all juveniles) and quite timid but I'm hoping that he'll be able to live a relatively normal life!

Aww I feel so bad for him.

Do you think I should contact the LFS I got him from to let them know as they may have multiple cases like this?

I'm concerned for him.

mmm...well I think either they wouldn't care or they may "dispose" of them...but maybe I'm just a cynic!

Don't worry about him :) You can just love him all the more for being a little bit special

Just a birth defect has mentioned - nothing really to worry about, its got to that age with no worries , i had a tri born with a defective tail,it hardly has one,but it doesn't stop him getting around :)
