Hi guys, im buying a 30 gallon corner tank, that I want to make into a paludarium. Now I need help with what amphibians I am going to put in there......I can get hold of fire bellied newts and frogs as well as axoltls.

I heard that fir bellied frogs excrete a toxin which harms other things so I wont have them. Would it be possible to have fire bellied newts with axolotls? I am also going to keep some other fish in the "water" part


Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've had both in with fish, and genraly most of the fish got eaten.

Axies are coldwater, even though they are sometimes sold as warm, they don't get on too well in warm conditions.

I cant say as if a 30 gallon corner would have been my first choice for a paludarium but it can be done most newts and toads secrete toxins that will tax the fish but Activated Carbon wil go a long way towards helping with that. However dont put anything in that you dont want to become a feeder. I'd go with fast live bearers like sword tails or endlers.

Ok after reading up a bit (thanks for the site links they were really helpful) I seems as though I cant really do a paludarium, I will tell you the animals that I have to go in the water part of the tank;

3 african dwarf frogs
2 Cory catfish
1 male betta (if he cant go in he can go in another tank)

I want to keep an animal that can inhabit the land part of the tank but that will not harm anything in the aquatic part of the tank.....is this possible?? Is there a type of frog or toad that won't harm my fish?

Well this may be a bit late but you could try a green anole (lizard), because from what i've heard they like swimming in water, if not, you ould make some kind of barrier, and put in some land hermit crabs (can't go in the wateror they'll drown.
