Pairing Krib Cichlids

hey all

I have recently brought two Kribensis Cichlids ( 2days ago ) , male and female.
Would this two become a pair ( they never together in the tank and the male sometimes chaise her )
Or do they pair in the fish store and would pair in a tank?

oh and if this is any help, they about 4cm / 1.5"

They pair up when they are of the right age and when (and most importantly if) they feel like it. There isn't a specific time or place.

What I did for mine (and for my cichlids in general) is to get a few (I got six juvenile kribs) making sure I could rehome the others when the time comes. When a pair forms this way the bond is stronger than if they only have one choice.

I actually am now in the process of rehoming four of mine because I have a pair formed.

Makes sense , but I have limited space as I have other cichlids. Little did I know that they already rule the tank, even with fish double there size.
But will these two krib breed?

Possibly, not necessarily.

If anything like my kribs they will pair eventually as kribs aren't fussy about partners IME.
Just make sure you have coconut and/or slate cave & hiding spots for a spawning pair and this will also help them to pair up.
Great parents to watch but are very protective over their little ones so beware!!!
