I've decided to go with a pressureized co2 system after a huge algae breakout caused by my diy co2 system that is very unstable. I don't want to get a big tank of co2 becuz theres no way to get refills. I have a lot of paintball co2 canisters and would like to make that into my co2 system. Anyone have any idea how to do it and where to get parts. My last resort is the redsea one on ebay that cost $150 USD shipped.

not to hijack, but I too would like to know if someone's gone this route before. I have half a dozen old paintball CO2 tanks laying around and im sure this would make my tanke more stable!

I know theirs some way to make a regular sized regulator fit a paintball canister.......I will have to go hunting for it again.

The red sea regulator works fine, but IMO the bubble counter, needle valve, and diffuser they give you are crap. IMO you shouldn't buy paintball regulators, just buy a regular regulator and adapt it for a paintball tank. That way if you change to a large canister you won't have to get a different regulator. Rex Griggs and Aquaticmagic are good place to buy parts from, just allow 2 weeks for shipping.

Hi Guys,

Here is a link with a load of information on paintball CO2. Includes information on threads etc.

Have fun,

Dave.

Thanks for all the help but i purchased the redsea one. The other stuff is too complicated and there was a sale.
