just wondering hwo do i lower my ph levels i head bogwood helps i got soem of that anywasy now but any other ideas?

Whenever this question comes up, the best answer is always another question: What is your current pH and do you really need to change it? Stability is so much more important than the pH reading. Bogwood and peat can sometimes help bring pH down if you find it neccessary to do so. Avoid the quick-fix chemicals. These can result in instability which is much worse for your fish than a pH that is a little outside their preferences.

bogwood and peat filtering can help but wont make a dramatic difference unless you have a low KH. also as Griz says stability is so much more important. you can also lower ph by using RO water but this is fairly costly

In that case I think you should have some success with bogwood and/or peat. Search the site for threads on the use of peat to lower pH. There are several ways to use it and I can recall some good information bieng posted here over the past several months. Go slow with it though, you want to avoid any sudden changes. I'll be honest here, I don't know the pH requirements of the fish you keep. Make sure you really want(need) to undertake this first.

Seeing that you've got mollies, I would not do this. They need hard alkaline water, and can actually fall ill if they do not get it. I have bitter experience of this myself- my mollies, kept in the depth of Scandinavian woods, were constantly prey to every disease that was going and put me off fihskeeping for years.

So this is not for your 80 litre ?

What size is the new tank and what do you want to keep in it?

its a 47 gallon tank and eventually i want to try discus fish but then need low ph so that might be out of the question but thats what my aim is :)
