hi there im new to to the tropical seen. i have kept goldfish for years and decided to move onto tropical i have done much researh on this subject and would like to know if u physically need to see the air bubbles gettin into your tank as i have a juwel corner internal filter with a 600 pump which iv turned to the side of the tank so there a slight mound of water above water level. this may seem a rediculous question but do u have to see air bubbles to know the fish r gettin enough oxygen? Thanks James

as long as there is surface movement thats sufficent enough in my understanding

yep, just a ripple of water on the surface and theres enough O2 in the tank.

Your slight disturbance of the surface water is plenty to get your entire tank's water to optimum oxygen levels. If you like the bubbles, I do, then by all means put an air pump on your tank for decoration and to give the fish bubbles to play in.
