Ovipositer?

We have a very pretty blue betta which we think is a girl, only we're not 100% sure! She's grown a lot since we got her, flares a lot (and I realise females do this too). Never had a bubble nest which of course wouldn't happen if she is a girl but she's young yet!
We know one way to tell is to put her in with a male and see what happens but dont want to do that, seems a little extreme!
I hear another way to tell is to look for an ovipositor... only what does that look like? I cant find any pics.

the ovipositor is a little white dot on her belly. ps girls do build bubblenest aswell

Imagine a grain of sugar, and place it just before the anal fin. Better viewed from below so feeding may be in order!)

And my females make nests too. Although theyr'e normally more sparse, and don't last as long as a male's.

I didn't know girls could build bubble nests!

I think maybe I spotted a tiny white mark but she was all excited and flapping about all over the place so I'll have to try again when she's a bit more settled.

She was one of my pastel rescues, hence the raggy fins.

I get them all the time and they are just the prettiest fish. I currently have a blue and a green in at the moment.

I can't bear to see them all torn up.

My lfs, the type that make so much money out of fish he has 3 performance cars......

And i would ship as many as you like to you just to get them out of there, but i don't think doncaster UK to CA would really be good for them! Unless you could pick up!

I have recieved fish from S E Asia by way of Florida. All we need is a trans shipper.

Shipping fish abroad has always confused the hell outta me! Do trans shippers deal witha ll the quarrenting and stuff? Like EMS arn't they one? Do they ship to your door?

Well, I'd rather have the round trip tickets.

But yes. A frequently used trans shipper in the US is Linda Olson. She recieves the fish ushering them through, customs, quarantine, whatever. and getting them legal. She may house them for a while. She may have a stock on hand from the supplier, I suppose. She then in contact with the buyer makes the arrangements, packages, and ships to the door. The buyer pays all the shipping costs which will amount to $25-$45. It would make for an expensive lfs rescue. Although a box full (and I have recieved 47 fish in a shipment box) would spread the cost per fish out.

The packaging requirements need to be A+ too.
