Overstocked?

Ok, I got 4 tiger barbs and 2 black skirt tetras
and 2 white skirt teras in a 20g. I know that the tiger barbs should not be in there but read this......CLICK HERE It explains why.


So Am I overstocked? Do you think I can get away with getting a small school of neon tetras? I was not expecting the barbs......

what do you think?

Oh and all the fish are 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches long.

I am running a Filter that does 300GPH..So its made for a 55g. hehe....I dont need to worry about filtration.

thump rule is inch per gallon
so it should hurt it have some neons they are small

I would be weary of putting the little tetras in there with the tigers, they like to pick on anything that is smaller than them and neons don't take to being picked on very well at all.

yup, but I have them in together in other tanks and they dont bother eachother...could be another case here though...hmmm....

I wouldn't say its over stocked but you're approaching your limit. I would say you could add say 3-4 cories for some bottom feeders.

Yeah, I agree with the above. I would not add any more to the middle/top levels but you could have some bottom dwellers easily. I have 4 tigers, 3 glowlight tetra and 4 pristilla tetra with 2 cories in a 20gallon and they seen fine but that might be because glolights can be pretty aggro themselves and they shoal with the pristillas.

Cories, otos or kuhlis loaches are good options for smaller tanks but the 2 latter do better with sand substrate.
