Hello, I wonder if you can help me?

I have had my aquarium for a few years now, it is a Juwel vision 180 with the stock juwel compact H and a fluval 3+ on the other side.

Originally I had:

1x 3" Queen Arabesque plec
4x 4" Silver dollar
2x 3" Uaru (I am planning to give these to a friend with a 400l aquarium when they outgrow mine)

The aquarium looked almost empty with these fish so I added some extras over a couple of weeks:

2x red-tailed black shark - I am planning to give 1 to my sister if they aren't a pair (one has a lighter belly than the other so fingers crossed)

5x Odessa barbs

The readings I took from my aquarium look ok, the water is clear. Have I overstocked this aquarium with my recent additions?

Thank you

Even a pair of RTBS in a aquarium are likely to fight to the death in an aquarium. These are bread in out-door ponds in Malasia, Singapore and similar places, with ponds that are arround 6X12X6 feet. This is because RTBS have a 6 foot cubed teritory in the wild and an RTBS will only allow another RTBS into it's teritory if it is ready to breed, once matured. Hormones are used to reduce the risk to the brood stock, but aparrently, depite every precaution the breeders do still have mishapse with the brood stock  That is when the RTBS existed in the wild. I am under the impression that they are wild stocks are extinct, but I don't know how much truth there is to this...

I'm sure you know the Silver dollars will also outgrow the tank? The barbs may become lunch with large Uaru also. Once the Uaru, RTBS and silver dollars are re-homed, you will be ready for more fish. You are OK for the moment, but re-homing will need to start in arround 2 month's tiime to keep the piece between the RTBS, or 3 months for the silvers and Uaru to avoid stunting
