Alight, so my 55gallon tanks back up and running YAY! d:D

My current stock is

2 Angelfish
16 Tiger barbs
8 Red minor Tetras
1 BN pleco
1 Clown Pleco
6 Albino cory catfish
and 1 whiptailed catfish

I know the tank seems a bit crowded, but I am very diligent with my water changes (twice a week 30%), aswell in regards to the Tiger barbs with angelfish, I've been told that if in a big enough school (12 or more) the agression should be limited to themselves, aswell the Red minors are shoaling with the tigers, so it's a group of 24.

I was wanting to originally have a total of 18 corys, 6 albinos, 6 peppered and 6 green/bronze/another type. I'm not sure that I could get away with that overstock. But I'm wanting to either try 1 of 2 things, get another 4 albinos, or get 6 more of another species (hoping peppered).

Would this be alright?

corys dont make much bio-load in most peoples eyes so i think maby 6 more shouldn't hurt. especualy with the water changes you giving.

Depending on the exact measurements of the tank it doesn't sound overstocked to me however i would advise keeping an eye on the tiger barbs as tiger barbs have been known to pick on angelfish a lot (angelfish are too slow to get away from the barbs and they often end up getting their fins nipped) .

The tank is 48" x 12", not too sure about the hight. The anglefish I have is about 4" (with fins) and has survived hell and back, including a 3 week stay in a large blue storage bin with no filter on it :)(). Hopfully it'll strike back at the tigers if picked on, I know it did when I had the RTBS.

If the tiger barbs decided to pick on the angelfish one day then the angelfish really wouldn't have a chance against them even if it did strike back. I wouldn't advise getting any more middle to top dwelling fish because of all the tiger barbs (which will grow quite large a about 3inches long) although personally i would reduce their numbers by about 2-3 barbs to help give the angels some more space, but it should be ok to get some more small bottom dwelling fish like corys if you wanted to  .
Make sure the tank has both area's of the tank which have lots of plants in them of varying heights (the angels will enjoy such area's a lot), but also make sure the tank has large clear area's with nothing in them to help make sure the barbs have some uninterupted shoaling space.
Ideally the angels would be better off in their own tank of suitable size without the tiger barbs, they are generally peaceful fish and prefer to have peaceful tankmates as company which are not too active or dominant  .

I know, I had them in a 29gallon tank for a while, but my mom wanted it down to one tank, so it's the 55gallon. I'm hoping the tigers get on alright with the Angels as IME a shoal less than 16 tends to show agression else where... I could try removing some of the red minors... But, I'm planning on adding the corys still, would adding another 12 corys be to much?? If so, then would 10 be too much (was thinking of 8 and 8 ).

Just my gut feeling, I'd cut down the number of Tiger Barbs, too. 16 does seem a lot, I'd cut down to around 10. They do grow surprisingly large and, as Tokis-Phoenix says, if they do turn on the Angels, it could turn very nasty very quickly. It's a matter of cutting down the risks, IMO.

Well, I do have a spare 40gallon planted at my dad's office, I'll see how the Tigers go, and if things become an issue then I'll move the Angels to my dads.

Well, it's been about a 4 days and the Tigers are getting on fine with the Angels, the angels seem to have their own space, as do the tigers. Let's hope for the best.
