Hi

I am thinking of getting an Angelfish for my 55 gallon tank but already have the following:

3 x Clown Loaches (approx 4 inches)
1 x Red Tailed Shark (approx 3 inches)
4 x neon tetras
4 x silvertip tetras
3 x black widow tetras
1 x swordtail

Would an extra addition be too much do you think?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum :good: i would have thought you could get away with adding at least 1 angel fish. the silvertip tetras may get a bit nippy with it though so keep an eye out. im not sure if your aware but those clown loaches will way out grow that size tank so maybe think about rehoming them before that happens.

You have an eclectic assortment of fish. The only problem that I see with it is the red tailed shark. They can become a nuisance as they grow larger in otherwise peaceful tanks. An angel will fit right in for that tank.

Hi, thanks for the info, got myself a very nice Angelfish and will keep an eye on the silvertips and how they get on. And yes, the Clown Loaches are for while the're small (and the Red Tailed Shark too) - at the moment they seem to be OK but will certainly try to rehome around this side of Christmas. :good:

Hi
Thanks for the advice, I will keep an eye on him - at the moment he is fine and peaceful but will look at rehoming (with the clowns perhaps) to another larger set up.
