Overstocked, Help!

They did have some nice looking glowlight tetras but wasn't sure if I'd just be better off upping the stocks of what I have?
Yes, up the numbers of what you already have.. you still have an unusually/uncomfortably large number of individual species, although there are now no immediate problems.

I would, personally, add some more Cardinal Tetra..they are fantastic to watch in groups of 12 or more, they are currently my favourite fish in my 110L !

Terry.

Yes I definitely plan to get more cardinals, they are now shoaling with my neon tetras now that the angelfish have gone and no one is trying to eat them! Lfs said they should be getting some in soon :)

I know, I won't be adding any more new species, and the platys won't be getting replaced if they die, but it didn't seem fair to rehome them when they're not causing any problems at the mo. Thanks for all your help!

The plates are fine in that tank. Also platies live for a fair number of years so they should be in there for a while yet.

Stocking seems good although I would as said earlier up the tetras to 6 each once you have re homed the pleco

The neons are up to 6 but there were no xray or cardinal tetras in stock so I am waiting until I can get my hands on some. As for the plec, no one seems to want him! But I will find him a new home asap. Once he's gone, should he be replaced with a smaller plec species (eg bristlenose) or should I just leave the cleaning to the shrimp?

I'd pass on replacing for a few months.. see how the shimp do and getting the tetra numbers is more important than a pleco :) also, keep in mind that they don't really do any cleaning.

You would be better getting cories but your tank is too stocked for those.

As KK said see how it goes for a few months. Most plecos just hide all day and add alot of bio load to the tank. Also getting the tetra numbers up is far more important

I have just re homed my pleco for that reason, I personally prefer shrimp, but will get some cories.
