hey some people might know me but i have a 10 gallon tank, and as of lastnight it was balanced with the fishes that i got, plants and water chemistry
but this morning i woke up to 33 baby mollies swimming around and hiding under plants!

like i sayd i only have a 10 gallon tank, i dont want to kill the little guys or get rid of any of my other fishes but i know that in a little bit that 10 gallon tank will not hold all 39 fishes and still be balanced

what do u suggest i do with this 33 unexpected baby's

Well wither get a small fry tank for now, or give the fish away (They will be too small tho atm) OR let your fish have some live food.......

i would feel horrible just scoping some of the baby fry and dumping them in the toilet or something like that but i do feel a bit better if the fishes kinda ate some just because its nature, well im giving myself some therapy lol but how long do u give it befor they start over stocking the tank and i would have to take some real action?

I read, that Mollies especially eat there own fry if they are not seperated... the chances are high, that they will be dinner, or get sucked into the filter... or just die... if any survive and grow big enough, maybe your lfs will take them of your hands.

My own experience with molly breeding goes back a few years but my recollection is that if baby mollies make it to a week old and have only other mollies in the tank, they will not be eaten. A large molly tank with several different age fry and juveniles and adults is fairly easy to have with even poor cover for the fry. This means that if the other fish don't eat them you are probably going to have at least 15 or 20 fry survive. With that said, your options are to get more space to hold all the new fish or give them away as soon as they are big enough. If you decide to keep them yourself look at a 29 gallon for the next tank. It is not too much longer than you 10 but will hold all your present fish including the fry.
Warning: This move is the first step in a never ending spiral of more and bigger tanks so think about it before you go in that direction. I have ended up with 10 tanks actually set up and full of fish holding a total of 265 gallons but I "need" to set up my 50 that is in storage because I want another kind of fish and don't want to mix them with the existing ones.

just let them get eaten
or just die
the reason rish give birth to so many fish is that most die in the wild anyway

i had the same problem, except i had maybe 5 born

they all died off eventually in one way or the other

or you could just donate them to your lfs
