I know this soundsa abit stupid, but on a website that i have just odered a filter from, under 'special offers' they are selling out of date fish food cheap.

Isit safe for fish or not?, if it is then i may buy a few tubs as its very cheap :shifty:

i would happily send the link if anyones interested.

Send me the link if you dont mind, out of date food still lasts for ages if unopened. I have used stuff that was over a year out of date, it was fine for feeding guppies.

I wouldn't risk it either it can make fish sick, fish can get food poisoning.

i think its more a case of the food losing its nutritional value and any vitamin content - probably a marketing ploy to get us to buy more!!!!! lol having said that i personally wouldnt use it just in case, i'd hate to think i'd been responsible for making my fish ill just for the sake of saving a bit of money.

i wouldn't risk it.

I used to have a big printer and a thingy that made it plastic covered (cant think of name right now!)
i did my own photoshop peices to go on the back of it:)
i want to do one with a field and a sky :)
so the fish look like they're flying

I wasn't sure about it either, so i didn't go for it, i might aswell spend a few more quid to ensure my fish stay healthy :good:

Fish foods lose vitamin enrichment with age. I don't know about making the fish ill, but it is certainly debateable whether the food will do the fish any good.

I would stick to 'in-date' foods. :good:
