Last years pics seem to have disappeared but I've added new ones today (30 April 2005)

Well, I just thought you might like to see what I'm getting up to this Summer. We have decided to re-vamp the back garden!

So what I thought I'd do is compile like a photographic diary of our progress. We're been doing it for a few months already and at the moment the garden looks like a proper building site!

Anyway, here goes:

Rough plan:

22nd May 2004
Where the new wall will be

The top of the garden (where all the crap is being dumped to help us raise the level)

Trying to block the dog in so she doesn't harass next doors cats!

The lovely rose tree that we had to move - I'd rather have a BBQ!

23 May 2004

Dug the trench out to lay the footings for the new wall!

30 May 2004

The footings are laid

Top of the garden - rubbish pile getting bigger!

20 June 2004

The steps have been torn out and the footings for new ones dug out

The existing patio is broken up

The rubbish pile - still growing

You can just about see the new wall taking shape in this one. We are going to face the blocks with rydale which is york stone (kinda creamy yellow colour)

4 July 2004

Dug the trench for the side wall

New steps are flying up! (and no that's not me in the pic!)

Pile at top again - forever growing

Erm..............where's the bloody big pond for all the wonderful fishes Sunflower? :D
I'm working on that one. Trying to convince him to have one in the lawn section!

I'm a qualified landscape gardener :D
My speciality is water features (I got a silver medal at the chelsea flower show with one of my designs)

If you need any help with the design.............. ;)

Thanks hun, I'll bear that in mind.

We've bought one of those silver cylinder featured for the top section. Like three wide vertical poles with water coming out the top of each of them.

So we're resurrecting the garden project this weekend  We've not really done much since the end of last Summer due to the weather being, well, not so good over here in the UK

So here's where we're at currently:

As much of the garden as I could fit into the camera frame:

Top section where the Summer house is, this level will eventually have a pebble garden with various grasses growing in it:

Middle section which will be mainly lawn with a hottub in the top right corner and a herb patch in the bottom left corner:

Bottom section with our partially completed patio:

Wish us luck getting it all finished this Summer :flex:

It's coming along very nicely Sun. :)

Can't wait to see it once it's finished.
Then I might have to come visit and try out the hottub. ;) :D

Wow!! What a huge project! Sounds like it will be fantastic when it's finished :D

*waiting anxiously by the mail for my invite to Sun's hottub party :p
