otto is dead

How long have you had these puffers? Most likely they are juveniles. They'll enjoy each other's company for now, but they'll likely put an end to it as they mature.

its possible, but i hope that they will breed instead of fight, i have seen them courting, and they seem to be doing fine

Otos are a small suckermouth catfish. They stay in one spot attached to a plant, rock or glass eating algae. (They are true herbavores and starve if there isn't enough for them--one reason they don't ship and acclimate well.) Then they will suddenly flit around to another spot. They often dart suddenly. They are small (1-1.5 ") and streamlined. They can move very fast and will hide if nervous.

Hey, Bizkut! :)

The "dart suddenly" is the problem, then. Puffers can only be housed with fish that are slow movers. Any darting will catch their eye, and put them into "attack mode."

hey jolly!

yes that may be it, they do dart, but also so do puffers, they also move quickly, especially when playing around, or scared, but they are fine with the otto i have now, i will just keep him until algea gets really bad, if it does..... thanks for all your help, this thread can be closed now, i have resorted to keeping my otto i have now, and getting a CO2 system to prevent algea as well
